PROPERTYdrum - April 2009
Letters
Dear Sheila
It will be interesting to see the first edition of Propertydrum as the industry needs a publication that represents all aspects of the industry, including lettings. A forward-thinking title will be welcomed by property professionals who would benefit from informative features on how the market is developing along with market projections and comment. It’s no good dwelling on the past – however great the revivals or downturns may have been – we need to drive the industry forward.
I’d like to see Propertydrum highlighting new policies and providing accurate information in connection with new legislation affecting the industry. This would include what is happening in Parliament as well as any new Acts that are passed.
In order to represent an accurate picture of the industry, the new title should represent independent businesses as well as large multi-nationals across a diverse cross-section of disciplines. Personally, I’d like to see the inclusion of company news too with features on events and what people are doing for charity. This can only ever be good for the industry.
There’s certainly a place for an online title in the current climate but the new publication must build support for the printed version in its early days as hard copies still have an important role to play. The online content will inherently have international reach and it will be good to see both versions in the marketplace. All the best!
